Giraffes hold the title of being the tallest land animals on Earth. They can reach heights of up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall, with their long necks comprising about half of their height. Despite popular belief, giraffes have the same number of neck vertebrae as most other mammals, including humans: seven. However, each vertebra can be up to 10 inches (25 centimeters) long!
